I had a fun day yesterday knitting these tiny Fair Isle patterned pin cushions. I hand wet felted them (lots of pummelling, alternating the hottest water you can bear with shocking the wool in cold water) and then nestled them into walnut shells (stored away since Christmas from the compulsory bowl of festive nuts).
I knitted them from Jamieson's Spindrift Shetland wool, with it's fabulous range of colours (currently about 225!) Most shades felt enthusiastically though some (like China Blue) resist.
